HDFC Bank Extends Senior Citizen Care FD Scheme Deadline: Check Last Date To Apply

India's leading private sector lender, HDFC Bank has extended the deadline senior citizens-only fixed deposit (FD) scheme. With the new extension in deadline, the last date to invest in the Senior Citizen Care FD plan is January 10, 2024. Launched in May 2020, the special Senior Citizen Care FD scheme of HDFC Bank offers higher interest rate benefits for senior citizens.

HDFC Bank offers FD rates of 3.00-7.20% per annum to the general public and 3.50-7.75% per annum to senior citizens on tenures between 7 days to 10 years.

The deadline to make any investment in the scheme is January 10, 2024.
Interest Rate On HDFC Bank Senior Citizen Care FD Scheme:
Under the scheme, the bank offers Senior citizens an additional 0.25% interest rate. The premium is in addition to the current 0.50 premium paid to senior investors on FD accounts. Investors in the Senior Citizen Care FD program thus receive 0.75% higher interest compared to regular clients.
In this way following an extra premium of 0.25% over the senior citizen rate, the bank offers 7.75% under the scheme.
