At the 14th annual convocation of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur, 594 students were awarded degrees. The event took place on Tuesday, with Prabha Narasimhan, Managing Director and CEO of Colgate-Palmolive India Ltd, as the chief guest. Narasimhan highlighted the importance of leadership in creating a culture where individuals are motivated to contribute and feel valued.

During the ceremony, degrees were conferred upon 216 students from the e-MBA programme and 369 from the full-time MBA programme. This included 344 students from the 2023-25 batch and 25 from the 2022-24 batch. Additionally, nine students received doctorate degrees. An official statement from the institute confirmed these details.
Leadership and Societal Contributions
Narasimhan addressed the graduates in Chhattisgarh's capital, emphasising that today's world is about recognising individual potential alongside achievements. "Leadership is about fostering a culture where people are inspired to contribute, feel valued, and share a collective vision," she stated. She urged graduates to use their skills and knowledge for societal contributions, stressing that building a sustainable future is their responsibility.
Professor Ram Kumar Kakani, Director of IIM Raipur, spoke about the institute's future growth plans. He mentioned that IIM Raipur is committed to academic excellence, industry collaboration, and global outreach. "We stand by the ethos of Sva-Karma Niratah Siddhim - a belief that true excellence is achieved through dedicated action," he said.
Expanding Academic Collaborations
IIM Raipur has significantly broadened its academic and research footprint through various collaborations in 2024-25. Seven Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed, including international partnerships with IPAG France, University of Wolverhampton UK, and Birmingham City University UK. These agreements aim to enhance academic exchange and research collaboration.
Domestically, MoUs were established with District Project Livelihood College (DPLC), Dantewada for an Entrepreneurship Certificate Programme, and with SAIL's Management Training Institute (MTI), Ranchi for joint training in the steel sector. Additional agreements were made with the National Stock Exchange (NSE) for academic cooperation and The English and Foreign Languages (EFL) University, Hyderabad.
Community Engagement Initiatives
Beyond formal agreements, IIM Raipur has collaborated with Chhattisgarh Police to tackle human trafficking through research-driven policy development and rehabilitation strategies. Professor Kakani highlighted these efforts as part of the institute's commitment to societal impact.
Puneet Dalmia, Chairperson of the Board of Governors at IIM Raipur, was also present at the convocation ceremony. His presence underscored the importance of leadership in guiding future business leaders towards impactful careers.
