India has emerged as a prominent source of foreign direct investment in Londons technology sector, securing a 29% share of the citys 100 foreign investment projects. Climate tech, including investments from Bengaluru-based RoadMetrics, has experienced substantial growth, contributing to job creation and economic development in the capital.
London has witnessed a surge in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the technology sector, with India emerging as a prominent source of inward investment. According to London & Partners, the city's business growth agency, India accounted for an impressive 29% share of the 100 foreign investment projects in tech for 2023, making it the leading country in this regard.

Climate Tech Drives Growth
One notable trend highlighted in the analysis is the significant growth in climate tech investments. London has seen a remarkable two-fold increase in FDI in climate tech compared to the previous year, now accounting for 23% of the total inward investment in the capital. This surge has led to the creation of nearly 1,000 new jobs, marking a three-fold increase.
London's Position as a Global Tech Hub
In addition to the 100 tech investments, London has also attracted 278 separate companies to set up operations in the city this year. This reaffirms London's status as the leading European and third top global destination for FDI, trailing only Dubai and Singapore. The city's resilience and desirability as an investment destination have been instrumental in attracting global investors.
London & Partners' Role in Facilitating Investment
London & Partners plays a crucial role in attracting international businesses to the city. The organization's teams worldwide act as talent scouts, identifying promising international companies in key growth sectors. By providing support in assessing commercial opportunities, hiring teams, and connecting with clients and investors, London & Partners helps streamline the process for international companies looking to establish a presence in London.
Celebrating the Milestone
The achievement of securing 100 international tech companies investing in London is a significant milestone for London & Partners. Laura Citron, CEO of London & Partners, expressed her delight at reaching this milestone, emphasizing the positive impact these investments have on the city's economy and job creation. London Mayor Sadiq Khan also commended London & Partners for their efforts in attracting foreign investment and supporting local jobs.
