The government may soon allow airlines to resume international flights, after strong demand in Vande Bharat mission on US-India route. The service is being considered for countries including the US, France, UK, Germany for flying from and to India for allowed passenger categories.

This shall be done by forming exclusive air corridors or 'individual bilateral bubbles' with each of these nations. Notably international flights have been suspended since March 23 after Janta Curfew in India due to coronavirus led travel curbs.
The concept of travel bubbles is fast gaining significance world over where the aim is to enhance connectivity between the two nations with minimal risk and maximum protection during Covid 19 times. Some of the nations starting off with international includes following travel bubble plan are Baltic states of Europe, Australia and New Zealand etc.
On Tuesday, the Union civil ministry said that is considering the request of foreign nations including the the US, France, Germany among other for allowing their airlines to commence repatriation flights similar to Vande Bharat mission.
"As we contemplate further opening up in response to demands, we are looking at the prospect of establishing individual bilateral bubbles, India-US, India-France, India-Germany, India-UK. These are all destinations where demand for travel has not diminished. Final decisions pursuant to negotiations are expected to be taken soon," the spokesperson from aviation ministry said. This is after the US labelled Air India Vande Bharat flights unfair that the ministry issued statement to clear the air on concerns surfacing from the US and discussion in relation to bilateral bubbles.
