After technical glitches on the day of re-opening bookings for train travel, the Indian Railways informed that approximately 30,000 PNRs had been generated and reservations were issued to more than 54,000 passengers till 9:15 pm on Monday, a Mint report said citing a Railway official.
Bookings for 15 passenger trains (30 routes including return journeys) opened on 11 May at 6 pm on Monday. It was earlier scheduled to begin at 4 pm.

The Indian Railways will partially resume passenger train operations to select destinations via 15 special trains starting 12 May after nearly two months. Bookings are only permitted to be made online over the IRCTC website and only confirmed tickets will be allotted.
"Data pertaining to special trains is being fed in the IRCTC website. Train ticket bookings will be available in a short while. Please wait. Inconvenience is regretted," the Ministry of Railways tweeted.
These special trains will connect New Delhi to Dibrugarh, Agartala, Howrah, Patna, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Secunderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Madgaon, Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad and Jammu Tawi.
All tickets for Tuesday's Mumbai-Delhi train sold out on Monday. Three trains will leave New Delhi on Tuesday for Dibrugarh, Bengaluru and Bilaspur.
All passengers will have to undergo screening at departure and only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to board the train.
