iPhone 18 Series Launch Date: Apple to Unveil iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, & First Foldable ‘iPhone Fold'

After the successful rolloutof iPhone 17, Apple is now preparing for one of its most anticipated launches yet, the iPhone 18 series, which is expected to debut globally in September 2026.

According to early industry leaks and supply chain reports, the lineup will include the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and Apple's first-ever foldable smartphone, tentatively named the iPhone Fold. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 18 and a new mid-tier variant called the iPhone 18e may arrive later in spring 2027, possibly around March.

Display

As per the leaks, Apple is reportedly introducing a fresh unified rear design across the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, moving away from the two-tone finish which was last seen on the iPhone 17 Pro. The new design will have a seamless glass back panel, giving the phones a more minimalist and premium look.

The iPhone 18 series will continue to have Apple's tradition of Super Retina ProMotion displays, while some Pro models could debut under-display Face ID technology and a transparent MagSafe zone.

Performance and Chipset

Under the hood, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to run on Apple's A20 Bionic chip, a major leap over the A18 and A19 generations. This new processor comes with higher performance & better AI capabilities. As per speculations, Apple may also integrate its first in-house C2 5G modem for faster 5G performance, reduced latency, and even satellite internet connectivity support.

Camera

The iPhone 18 Pro models are reportedly expected to receive some major camera hardware and software improvements. Reports suggest Apple will introduce a variable aperture Fusion camera for enhanced low-light performance and depth control. The Pro lineup is also expected to use three-layer stacked Samsung image sensors and larger aperture lenses for superior detail and dynamic range.

Apple's First Foldable iPhone

The much-hyped iPhone Fold could be Apple's entry into the foldable smartphone market in 2026, as per JP Morgan analysts. Apple Fold is expected to feature a 5.5-inch cover display and a 7.8-inch unfolded screen. The device may come equipped with 48MP main and ultra-wide cameras, but unlike the Pro variants, it might omit a telephoto lens. This foldable iPhone is expected to compete directly with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Google Pixel Fold devices.
