IPL 2025: The first rivalry of the IPL 2025 season is scheduled on March 22, where Rajat Patidar-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will compete against Ajinkya Rahane-led Kolkata Knight Riders. The two teams will open the season at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. While alcoholic beverages giant Diageo India is the owner of RCB, the KKR team is owned by Bollywood biggies like Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla with her husband Jay Mehta and Red Chillies Entertainment.
KKR Vs RCB Date:
KKR will face off with RCB at 7.30 pm IST on March 22, Saturday. The match will start with a toss of a coin, and the winning team in the toss will decide whether they prefer batting or bowling first.
Data from the IPL website showed that KKR won the IPL trophy in 2012, 2014 and the latest, 2024. However, unlike KKR, RCB has been unlucky in that zone. RCB holds no IPL trophy as of now.
KKR Team:
As per the latest update, KKP has picked Chetan Sakariya as a replacement for Umran Malik for the upcoming edition of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Umran Malik is not going to play this season due to an injury. At the same time, Sakariya has represented India in an ODI and two T20Is and has played 19 IPL games, scalping 20 wickets the same. Being a left-arm medium pacer, Sakariya is joining KKR at Rs 75 lakh.
KKR batters are Ajinkya Rahane, Rinku Singh, Quinton De Kock, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Rovman Powell, Manish Pandey, and Luvnith Sisodia.
While all-rounders are Venkatesh Iyer, Anukul Roy, Moeen Ali, Ramandeep Singh, and Andre Russel, among the bowlers are --- Anrich Nortje, Vaibhav Arora, Mayank Markande, Spencer Johnson, Harshit Rana, Sunil Narine, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Chetan Sakariya.

RCB Team:
The RCB team has the most followed cricketer and record-breaking batter, Virat Kohli. The former Indian cricket team's captain had let go of captainship to Rajat Patidar who debuted IPL in 2021 and has played about 27 matches. However, Patidar joined RCB in IPL 2022, the right-hand batter has scored 861 runs in 31 T20 games where he has featured for the side, with 7 half-centuries and a high score of 96.
That being said, the batting form of RCB includes prominent players like Rajat Patidar, Virat Kohli, Phil Salt, Jitesh Sharma, Devdutt Padikkal, and Swastik Chhikara. According to the BookMyShow details, the seats are filling up fast at Eden Gardens stadium. Currently, the price is around Rs 3,500 per ticket. However, the price ranged from Rs 900 to Rs 15,000.
