Just 3 days to go for IPL 2026 to begin, and the preparation has already begun in Bengaluru. The season opener match, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on March 28, igniting the 19th edition of the Indian Premier League. The RCB vs SRH match is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM on Saturday.

Before the start of IPL 2026 matches, the Bengaluru city police have issued a detailed traffic advisory for Chinnaswamy Stadium for smooth movement of vehicles and public safety. The Bengaluru traffic advisory will be in effect on March 28 and April 5, when matches are scheduled in Bengaluru at the stadium.
Since heavy crowd movement is expected, several roads in Bengaluru will see parking restrictions, diversions, and special arrangements, especially around central business district areas.
Parking Banned on Major Roads Near Chinnaswamy Stadium
As per the Bengaluru traffic advisory, parking has been strictly prohibited on several key roads around the stadium. These include:
- Queens Road (Balekundri Circle to Queens Circle, and Queens Circle to CTO Junction)
- MG Road (Anil Kumble Circle to Queens Circle and surrounding stretches)
- Cubbon Road, Central Street, and St. Mark's Road
- Kasturba Road, Lavelle Road, and Vittal Mallya Road
- Museum Road, Raj Bhavan Road, Race Course Road, and nearby areas
- Roads inside Cubbon Park, including King Road and Fountain Road
Authorities have clearly stated that parking violations will not be tolerated, and vehicles parked in restricted zones may be towed.

To manage the rush, specific parking zones in Bengaluru will be available between 11:00 AM and 9:00 PM:
St. Joseph's Indian High School Ground
St. Joseph's European School Ground (Museum Road)
Freedom Park MLCP Parking
Garuda Mall Parking
Shivajinagar Bus Stand (First Floor)
UB City Parking
Visitors attending the IPL matches at Chinnaswamy Stadium are advised to use these designated parking spaces.
Stadium Entry & Exit Gates During the IPL 2026
The advisory also mentioned entry and exit arrangements at Chinnaswamy Stadium:
- Gates E-1 to E-3 and E-18 to E-23 (Cubbon Road side) will be used for entry
- Gates E-11 to E-17 (Link Road side) accessible via Anil Kumble Circle and BRV Circle
- Entry available at E-05 and E-08 (Queens Road)
- Exit permitted only through E-09 and E-9A
- Gate E-10 is reserved exclusively for players, officials, and VIPs
Ola, Uber & Auto Pick-Up/Drop Points Announced
For those using ride-hailing services like Ola and Uber in Bengaluru, designated pickup and drop points have been set at the BRV Ground at the Gate No. 06 and the Manekshaw Parade Ground at Gate No. 03.
Public Advisory for Commuters
The Bengaluru Traffic Police have urged the public to avoid private vehicles and use public transport, including BMTC buses and Namma Metro, to ease congestion on match days.
With thousands expected to attend the matches, following the Bengaluru IPL traffic rules will be important to avoid delays and ensure a hassle-free experience.
