Jio has launched JioFrames, an AI-powered smartglass designed for hands-free access to calls and music. With support for multiple Indian languages, it aims to enhance digital experiences in India and compete with global platforms.
Jio has ventured into the smartglass market with the launch of JioFrames, a device that facilitates hands-free functions like calls, music, and video recording. This innovation is supported by an AI voice assistant capable of understanding multiple Indian languages. Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio, introduced the device during the company's annual general meeting, highlighting its design tailored for India's lifestyle.

The smartglass sector is currently led by Ray-Ban Meta AI Glasses, which held a 73% global market share in the first half of 2025, according to Counterpoint Research. Jio aims to challenge this dominance by introducing features such as reels and photo gallery customisation to enhance user experience and compete with international platforms.
AI Integration and Cloud Services
Jio's digital ecosystem is expanding to offer users secure data generation and storage options. The company leverages artificial intelligence to provide personalised services within its ecosystem. Last year, Jio offered 100 GB of free cloud storage, and this year it introduced features for automatic document categorisation and promotional material creation.
The introduction of Riya, an AI voice assistant similar to Amazon's Alexa or Apple's Siri, marks another step in Jio's technological advancements. This feature enhances user interaction by providing a multilingual AI experience tailored for Indian users.
Innovative Tools and Features
Jio has unveiled the JioLenZ button, allowing users to customise their viewing options. Additionally, Kiran Thomas, President of Jio Platforms, presented details about the cloud-based JioPC application. This app enables users to access personal computer features on their television using a Jio set-top box and an external keyboard.
Since Diwali last year, Jio has been offering its users 100 GB of free cloud storage space. This initiative supports the company's goal of creating a comprehensive digital ecosystem that enhances user convenience and data security.
Jio continues to innovate by integrating new tools and features into its offerings. These developments aim to provide users with enhanced digital experiences while maintaining privacy and security within the company's ecosystem.
