Reliance Jio's ultra-fast 5G network went completely offline on the evening of July 6, 2025, in select parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat. The unexpected outage began around 7 PM IST, leaving thousands of users without 5G connectivity. For nearly an hour, customers were unable to access mobile data or make any calls via the 5G network.
Sudden Signal Loss Hits Jio 5G Users
During the outage, users reported a complete loss of signal on their devices, with mobile screens showing "No Service" or zero bars. Interestingly, the blackout affected only Jio's 5G users, while those still on the 4G network remained unaffected and continued to access services without any disruptions.

JioDown Trends Nationwide
As the disruption spread, social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) saw a flood of complaints. Hashtags such as #JioDown and #Jio5G began trending within minutes. Users across affected regions voiced their frustration, with many saying they were unable to even send a message or make emergency calls during the critical period.
Jio Services Restored
Thankfully, by late evening, Jio managed to restore 5G services. Most users confirmed that their network bars were back and normal connectivity resumed. However, the telecom giant remained silent, with no official statement released at the time of reporting to explain the cause behind the technical glitch.
This is not the first service disruption for Jio's 5G network. Just weeks ago, on June 16, 2025, users in Kerala experienced a similar blackout that lasted over an hour. Going further back, on September 17, 2024, Jio's services went down across the country after a fire broke out at one of its Internet Data Centres (IDC), impacting millions of subscribers nationwide.
Airtel and Vi Also Struggling-India's Telecom Sector Faces Flak Over Repeated Blackouts
Reliance Jio is not alone in facing technical troubles. On May 13, 2025, Airtel customers in Tamil Nadu dealt with a major network outage that crippled both calls and internet services. Similarly, Vodafone Idea (Vi) users across metro cities reported connectivity issues on April 18, 2025 adding to growing customer dissatisfaction across telcos.
As of now, Reliance Jio has not released any official explanation for the disruption in Rajasthan and Gujarat.
