Jupiter Wagons Ltd. (JWL), a leading provider of integrated mobility solutions across rail, road, and marine transportation, has won an order worth Rs 242.41 crore from GATX India Private Limited, the country's largest private railcar lessor. The contract involves the manufacturing and supply of 583 specialised wagons designed to enhance the efficiency of bulk, automotive, and containerised freight transport.

The order comprises a mix of BLSS (Container Carrier Wagons), ACT2 (Bi-level SUV Carriers), BOXNHL (High-Capacity Open Wagons), and BVCM wagons. These advanced freight solutions are built for high-capacity, long-distance operations and align with India's evolving logistics infrastructure needs.
Key Wagon Types:
BLSS - Optimised for ISO container transport with high axle load capacity and improved payload-to-tare ratio, ideal for intermodal and port-to-hinterland connectivity.
ACT2 - Bi-level carriers accommodating up to 10 SUVs per wagon, ensuring secure transport, minimal handling, and faster loading/unloading.
BOXNHL - Heavy-duty open wagons with over 70-tonne payload capacity, suited for bulk commodities like coal and iron ore, featuring enhanced brake systems for heavy-haul corridors.
The deal reinforces JWL's market position and highlights its expertise in executing large-scale, specialised rail projects.
Commenting on the win, Vivek Lohia, Managing Director, Jupiter Wagons Ltd., said: "We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with GATX India through this significant order. This engagement supports our customer diversification strategy and reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality, future-ready freight solutions."
Jupiter Wagons continues to expand its footprint across multiple transport modes with a focus on innovation, quality, and sustainability, supporting India's vision for a modern, efficient logistics network.
