The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh Karnataka weather warning, forecasting thunderstorms, lightning and squalls in several parts of the state this week. While Coastal Karnataka is likely to remain calm with no major alerts, North and South Interior Karnataka have been placed under a yellow alert for the next two days of this week of October.

Bengaluru Weather: Pleasant but Wet Conditions Ahead
Bengaluru weather is set to experience light to moderate rainfall on Saturday, October 4th, under cloudy skies that are expected to persist throughout the day. The minimum temperature is forecast at 21°C, while the maximum will hover around 27°C, keeping conditions mild and pleasant.
According to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC), scattered rains with strong winds are expected across multiple districts in the coming days. Sunrise was recorded at 06:09 AM, with sunset scheduled for 06:09 PM.
Coastal Karnataka: No Major Weather Warnings
The IMD forecast for Coastal Karnataka from October 4 to 10 shows no warnings throughout the week. This means cities such as Mangaluru, Udupi, and Karwar can expect stable conditions without the risk of thunderstorms or heavy rainfall. While isolated showers are possible, no fishermen advisories or marine weather alerts have been issued.
North Interior Karnataka: Thunderstorm & Lightning Alert
The IMD has issued a yellow alert for North Interior Karnataka on October 4 and 5, predicting thunderstorms, lightning, and squall activity. Districts including Belagavi, Ballari, Kalaburagi, Raichur, and Koppal could experience intense weather with gusty winds and lightning strikes.
Farmers and residents have been advised to remain cautious, avoid open areas during lightning, and follow safety protocols shared by IMD. From October 6 onwards, conditions are expected to stabilise with no warnings issued.
South Interior Karnataka: Rain and Storm Warnings Continue
Similar alerts have been sounded for South Interior Karnataka weather, where the IMD has predicted thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls on October 4, 5, and 6, 2025. Key districts like Bengaluru, Mysuru, Tumakuru, Mandya, and Chikkamagaluru are expected to witness moderate to heavy rainfall with frequent lightning and strong winds. From October 7 to 10, 2025, conditions are forecast to improve, with "No warning" issued for the region.
