In a big relief, the leading oil marketing companies have decided to bring down the rates of per unit commercial LPG cylinder by 25.50 effective from October 1, 2022. After decline of Rs 25.50 effective from today, now the price of one 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder will be Rs 1859 instead of the earlier Rs 1885 in the national
capital region.

If you happen to be in Kolkata, the price a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder will be Rs 1959 as against the previous price of RS 1995.50. Meanwhile, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in India's financial capital Mumbai will be Rs 1811.50 beginning from today instead of Rs 1844. In the capital of Tamil Nadu, Chennai, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder will be Rs 2009.50 from Saturday as against the previous price of RS 2045.
Earlier this year in September, commercial LPG cylinders prices underwent a reduction in prices. In the month of July, the prices of 19 kg commercial cylinder witnessed a decline of Rs 8.5 per unit.
Meanwhile, the prices of domestic cylinder remain unaltered for now.
It is worth mentioning that earlier on July 6, rates of domestic liquid petroleum gas cylinders (14.2 kg) hiked by Rs 50/unit. Earlier, domestic cylinder rates received a revision on May 19, 2022. In Delhi, it has been selling at Rs 1053 per unit. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai, the price of domestic cylinder is Rs 1052.5 per unit, 1079 per unit, and Rs 1068.5.
It is important to note that prices do not remain the same in all states as a result of levy of local VAT.
The prices of commercial LPG move in tandem with any surge or decline in
global prices.
The difference between a market-priced commercial LPG and subsidized household cooking gas led to diversion of cylinder meant for kitchens and commercial uses. To control this, the renowned stated owned oil companies have begun to impose caps on a 14.2 kg refill that a household may order, as per a report.
It is worth mentioning that Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd or BPCL has capped 1 refill in 15 days beginning from August 26, 2022 and other retailers like Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) may also follow the same lines.
