Warren Buffett, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, has emerged as the lone billionaire with gains amid the ongoing US stock market crash after President Donald Trump's tariff announcement. Other than Warren Buffett, all the top ten billionaires of the world, including Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, and Bill Gates, witnessed a slump in their wealth, as per Bloomberg data on Sunday, April 6.
Warren Buffett, popularly known as the Oracle of Omaha, saw his wealth surge by nearly $12.7 billion year to date (YTD) to $155 billion while maintaining sixth position on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Tech giants who are above Warren Buffett on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index list have seen their wealth decline since the beginning of 2025. Tech billionaire Elon Musk, the richest person on the planet, witnessed a decline in his net worth by $130 billion to $302 billion. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who stands second on the list, saw a $45.2 billion decline in wealth to $193 billion.
Net worth of Facebook founder and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg fell by $28.1 billion in 2025 to $179 billion. Bernard Arnault, Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, Larry Page, and other billionaires also witnessed a significant decline in their net worth.

Warren Buffett is the largest shareholder of Berkshire Hathaway, an American investment firm. His company has delivered nearly 19.8% compounded annual gain in market value since 1965. The company has invested in major firms like Apple Inc., Coca-Cola, American Express, Clayton Homes and Dairy Queen, etc.
Most of Warren Buffett' earning comes from his investments in Berkshire Hathaway. According to Bloomberg, he also owns shares in U.S. Bancorp. Warren Buffett's earnings from Berkshire Hathaway includes nearly '99-and-a-half-percent' investment. His non-Berkshire Hathaway investment is estimated to be between $500 million and $900 million.

A large chunk of Berkshire Hathaway's investment portfolio includes Apple's shares, as per its 13F filing on February 14, 2025, about Berkshire Hathaway's holdings as of 31 December 2024. Apple shares constitute 22.2% of the portfolio of Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway. The American multinational firm holds around 30 crore Apple shares worth $565 crore (based on their current market price). Other than Apple, Bank of America Corp, American Express Company, Coca-Cola Company, and Chevron Corp are some of the other top stocks owned by Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway.
Warren Buffett Sold $134 Billion in Equities in 2024
Several stock market investors keenly observe Warren Buffett market investment updates. In 2024, Berkshire Hathaway sold nearly $134 billion in equities and he was holding a cash worth $334 billion, reported Fortune. The net worth of Berkshire Hathaway's portfolio in 2024 was nearly half from a year ago period. Many stock market experts call it as a hint that he had seen the US market selloff coming and had hoarded cash.
"History shows when Buffett turns net seller, he often anticipates a period of subpar market performance," Armando Gonzalez, founder of AI-powered research platform Bigdata.com, told Fortune. In 2025, Nasdaq has fallen nearly 19.15%, whereas S&P 500 has declined nearly 13.54%.
