Government officials said India is tracking crude and LPG supplies very closely as tensions near the Strait of Hormuz continue, as per ANI report. The government is preparing to raise purchases from other regions if flows through the route face disruption. Officials added that previous steps to widen India's energy sources are helping reduce risk from any single corridor.
India has already spread its crude oil imports across many suppliers in recent years, reported news agency citing officials. Purchases from Russia began in 2022 and have grown quickly since then as part of this shift. Authorities believe this wider crude basket gives India more flexibility if Middle East shipments are affected.
