The Mahindra Manulife Mutual Fund, a partnership between Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Limited and Manulife Investment Management (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., has launched 'Mahindra Manulife Business Cycle Fund.' This open-ended equity scheme will adhere to a business cycle-based investing concept, catering to investors seeking long-term capital appreciation through equity and equity-related securities.
Through active portfolio allocation, the Mahindra Manulife Business Cycle Fund seeks to create capital appreciation by investing primarily in equity and equity-related instruments, with a particular focus on investing in firms and sectors that engage in business cycles.

Anthony Heredia, MD & CEO of Mahindra Manulife Mutual Fund, highlighted the significance of this offering, stating, " Through a judicious alignment of economic shifts and market dynamics, we provide investors with an opportunity to add a long-term tactical play to their core fund portfolios. This fund complements our existing product portfolio and is well suited to both one time as well as SIP investments."
The Mahindra Manulife Business Cycle Fund will be managed by Krishna Sanghavi, Chief Investment Officer - Equity, who has over 28 years of expertise in the Indian stock markets, and Mr. Renjith Sivaram Radhakrishnan.
Commenting on the fund's core objective, Krishna Sanghavi said, "The fund strategically aims to integrate the economic cycle and market cycle with a view to construct portfolio based on sectoral preferences depending upon stages of business cycles, in order to generate long-term capital appreciation. At Mahindra Manulife, we believe our new offering Mahindra Manulife Business Cycle Fund is tailored to seize opportunities across market capitalization in equity markets using a blend of top-down Business Cycle/Sector identification and bottom-up stock selection approach."
The Mahindra Manulife Business Cycle Fund fosters investors to go on a revolutionary investment journey that corresponds with the seasonal dynamics of the economy and markets. The 'New Fund Offer' (NFO) is scheduled to begin on August 21, 2023, with the subscription window ending on September 4, 2023. The fund will thereafter reopen for continuous sale and repurchase on September 13, 2023.
The Mahindra Manulife Business Cycle Fund's investment strategy blends top-down and bottom-up techniques and this procedure will begin with a detailed analysis of the current economic cycle and sectoral trends, which will provide a solid framework for portfolio allocation. During healthy business cycles, the fund will prioritise investments in high-quality firms, guaranteeing diversity across market capitalizations and exposure to a wide range of investment opportunities.
Furthermore, the fund will strategically focus on industries that correlate to different periods of the business cycle. Through well-informed sector and stock selection decisions, the Mahindra Manulife Business Cycle Fund seeks to optimise returns while efficiently reducing risk by incorporating these techniques.
