Mexico's Fatima Bosch has been crowned Miss Universe 2025, beating contestants from more than 130 countries in this year's global beauty pageant. The 25-year-old received the crown from last year's winner, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig of Denmark, during the ceremony held in Thailand. Puerto Rico has been announced as the host country for next year's Miss Universe edition.

The runner-up positions were claimed by contestants from various countries, reflecting the global diversity of the competition. Thailand's Praveenar Singh was named first runner-up, followed by Stephany Abasali of Venezuela as second runner-up. The third runner-up position went to Ahtisa Manalo of the Philippines, while Olivia Yace of Ivory Coast finished as fourth runner-up.

The first runner-up of Miss Universe 2025, Veena Praveenar Singh, is of Indian descent but a naturalised Thai citizen. She was born in Chiang Mai, Thailand, to Indian parents and represents Thailand in international pageants.

India's representative, Manika Vishwakarma, performed admirably, advancing to the Top 15 after the swimsuit round. Despite her strong performance, she did not progress to the Top 12, concluding India's participation in this year's contest.
India has a proud history in the Miss Universe pageant, having previously secured the crown three times; Sushmita Sen in 1994, Lara Dutta in 2000 and Harnaaz Sandhu in 2021.

While the Miss Universe Organisation has not officially disclosed the prize money for 2025, reports suggest that it is likely to be around $250,000, similar to the award given to Victoria Kjaer in 2024. In addition, the winner receives a monthly stipend of $50,000 to cover travel, public appearances, and brand-related commitments.
Beyond the monetary rewards, the titleholder enjoys several prestigious perks, including a luxurious residence in the heart of New York City and the iconic Miss Universe crown, valued at approximately $5 million.

Fatima Bosch's win was sealed by her final answer during the question round. Asked about the challenges women might face in 2025 and how she would use her title to make the world safer for women, she spoke with confidence and passion: "We are here to speak up, bring change, and make history together." Her response, highlighting issues such as safety and equal opportunities for women, resonated strongly with the audience and judges, earning her the crown.
