Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a Maharatna CPSE, has received an order worth Rs. 2241.86 crores (excluding taxes) from NHPC Limited, a Miniratna CPSE. Bhel is a Midcap electricals equipment company having a market cap of Rs 36,666.13 Crore.
According to the company, the order is for design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection and commissioning of Electro-Mechanical package involving Turbine, Generator, Digital Governing System, Static Excitation System, Transformers, Bus Reactors, Gas Insulated Switchgear, Outdoor Pot yard & Switchyard Equipments and Electrical & Mechanical BoPs for 12x240 MW Electro-Mechanical Works of Dibang Multipurpose Project at Roing in Arunachal Pradesh. Major equipment for the contract will be manufactured by BHEL's plants at Bhopal, Bangalore, Jhansi and Rudrapur. The on-site execution activities will be carried out by the company's Power Sector - Eastern Region division, Kolkata.

Electro-Mechanical Works of Dibang Multipurpose Project, 12x240 MW, Roing, Arunachal Pradesh, India comprises of (i) First Contract: Ex-works supply of equipment and materials including Spares and Tools & Instruments. (ii) Second Contract: Providing all services i.e. Model Testing, inland transportation including inland Insurance for delivery at Site, unloading, storage, handling at Site, installation, testing and commissioning including performance testing of all the equipment supplied, according to the filing by the company.
Shares of BHEL on Friday closed 2.14% lower at Rs 105.30 per share on BSE. The stock surged 7.45% in 1 week, while in 1 month, it surged 7.72%. It has given 53.95% positive return in the last 6 months. It gained 10.40% in 1 year, 67.04% in 3 years, and 69.63% in 5 years, respectively.
Its 52-week high is Rs 113.35 per share and its 52-week low is Rs 53.40 per share on BSE.
