Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Yellow Line of the Bengaluru Metro Phase-2 project on Sunday. This new metro route extends from RV Road in South Bengaluru to Bommasandra in the eastern part of the city, significantly enhancing the metro connectivity across key areas.
The newly launched Yellow Line spans over 19 kilometers and includes 16 stations along its route. It is part of Phase-2 of the metro expansion and has been constructed at an approximate cost of Rs 7,160 crore. The project aims to decongest traffic-heavy corridors and improve the daily commute for thousands of Bangalore residents.
In addition to the inauguration of Phase-2, PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for the upcoming Phase-3 of the metro project. This future expansion is expected to further improve the city's public transport infrastructure.

Namma Metro Yellow Line Service Timings and Other Details
Services on the Yellow Line of the Bangalore Metro are scheduled to commence on Monday, just one day after the official inauguration. According to initial reports, the first three trains to operate on this line will be driverless, marking a significant technological advancement for the city's public transport network.
These driverless trains are expected to run at intervals of approximately 25 minutes, ensuring regular service for early users of the line. However, as operations expand and systems are fine-tuned, the frequency of trains is likely to improve, offering more convenience to daily commuters.
Bangalore Metro Timings: The metro services will be operational every day from 5:00 AM until 11:00 PM, providing extensive coverage throughout the day. This operating schedule is designed to accommodate a broad range of passengers, including early morning office-goers, students, and late-evening travellers, thereby enhancing mobility across the city.

In terms of fares, the pricing will remain in line with the existing fare structure of the Bangalore Metro, ensuring consistency and affordability for users. The ticket prices for a one-way journey are set between Rs 10 and Rs 90, with the exact fare depending on the distance travelled. This fare model is designed to cater to both short and long-distance commuters while maintaining accessibility for a wide section of the public.
