In the aftermath of Cyclone Michaung, which has caused widespread devastation in Chennai and its neighboring districts, state-run NLC India has stepped forward to assist in the flood relief efforts. The company has sent 16 high-capacity pumps, which are typically used in its lignite mines, to help drain water from inundated areas in the city.
