On Thursday, the national transporter Indian Railways declined all such reports that claimed that train services will be resumed from April 15, when the lockdown will be likely lifted. The statement by the behemoth said that the ministry of railways has not come up with any protocol as provided in some of the media reports.

"Railways would take best feasible decisions and in the interest of all stake holders including the prospective passengers," it said. And all assumption on resuming train services shall purely be premature speculation given the current condition.
Also, the railways advices on not giving in to the some of the misleading reports or such rumours. And as and when the decision is taken, all concerned will be informed on the same.
Even before the lockdown was announced in the night of March 24, some of the passenger train services were suspended. Post which all the express, mail and passenger services also stand suspended for the period of the lockdown from March 25 to April 14, 2020.
Only goods trains are running to ensure supply of essential commodities is not hampered.
The remarks from the transporter came after news reports suggested that the railways is working on plans to begin operations from April 15 with few of the measures including arrival at the station 4 hours before the train departure and thermal screening for passengers.
