In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the All India Petroleum Dealers Association has decided to not sell fuel to customers that are visiting petrol pumps without a face mask to ensure the safety of employees working at fuel stations across India.

"To ensure the safety of our staffers, we decided yesterday not to sell fuel to those not wearing face masks at fuel retail outlets across India in view of coronavirus pandemic," said Ajay Bansal, president of All India Petroleum Dealers Association, to news agency ANI.
Petrol pumps across have been categorised as essential services amid the lockdown by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
While these outlets continue to serve customers, some even 24x7, they have been hard hit by a massive drop in sales due to restricted movement during the nationwide lockdown.
Meanwhile, petrol and diesel prices have remained unchanged for 34 days across major Indian cities despite fluctuations in international crude oil prices and rupee's value, the two factors that largely determine their price movement.
Fuel prices are revised at 6 am every day by state-owned oil retailers.
