According to price notifications from oil retailers, petrol increased by 35 paise in the national capital this month, while diesel increased by 9 paise. Following the hike in fuel prices on Wednesday, oil marketing companies raised petroleum products prices for the second day in a row on Thursday. Petrol and diesel prices have now surpassed Rs 100 in all metro cities, including Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai.
Petrol prices have risen above Rs 100 per litre in the national capital, the last of the metro cities to do so. Prices in Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Pune are already higher than that.

In Mumbai, the rise pushed petrol to Rs 106.59 per litre and diesel to Rs 97.18 per litre. On May 29, the city became the first metro in the country to sell petrol for more than Rs 100 per litre.
People in Kolkata now have to pay Rs 100.62 for a litre of petrol and Rs 92.65 for a litre of diesel following an increase in gasoline prices on July 8.
The price of petrol in Chennai has risen to Rs 101.37 per litre, while the price of diesel has risen to Rs 94.15 per litre with the current revision.
In some areas of Rajasthan, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh, diesel, the most commonly used fuel in the country, is above that threshold.
The increase on July 8 is the 37th since May 4, when state-owned oil companies resumed rate revisions after an 18-day hiatus caused by assembly elections in states such as West Bengal.
