After exceeding the Rs100 barrier in 12 states and union territories, fuel prices were raised for the second day in a row on Sunday. The increase on Sunday was the 31st since 4 May, when state-owned oil companies resumed pricing revisions after an 18-day hiatus caused by assembly elections in states such as West Bengal.
Petrol prices in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Odisha, Manipur, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh had already surpassed the Rs 100 level.

Petrol was retailing for 100.14 per litre in Patna on Saturday. In Salem (Tamil Nadu), the fuel price reached 100 per litre, while in Thiruvananthapuram, it was sold at 100.09. (Kerala). Petrol was priced at 100 in Moga, 100.20 in Mohali, 100.03 in Firozpur, and 100.19 in Rupnagar in Punjab.
In Rajasthan's Ganganagar, both gasoline and diesel prices have surpassed the $100 threshold. On Saturday, gasoline was selling for 109.30 per litre and diesel was selling for 101.85 per litre.
Last week, petrol retailed for more than a hundred rupees in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
On Friday, international oil prices surged to their highest level since October 2018, owing to predictions of increased demand, a continuation of the cartel's oil squeeze, and geopolitical factors.
Domestic fuel retailers match fuel pump prices to the previous day's international benchmarks, which generally fluctuate in lockstep with crude oil prices. Fuel prices at the pump are also expensive due to taxes.
