In a major boost to the farming community, Prime Minister Narendra Modi disbursed the 15th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme during his visit to Jharkhand on November 15, 2023. The scheme, designed to provide direct financial assistance to farmers, saw over Rs 18,000 crore being transferred to the accounts of more than 8 crore beneficiaries.
The PM-Kisan scheme, a cornerstone of the government's commitment to the welfare of farmers, grants eligible farmers a Rs 2,000 instalment per cycle. The recent disbursement takes the cumulative amount transferred to farmers' accounts to an impressive Rs 2.62 lakh crores over 15 instalments.

To facilitate this process, the government has emphasized the importance of eKYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) for registered PM-KISAN farmers. The official PM-Kisan website outlines the steps for farmers to update their eKYC online, ensuring a seamless transfer of benefits.
Updating eKYC: A Quick Guide
Visit the official website of PM-Kisan
Click on the eKYC option on the right side of the page
Enter your Aadhaar Card number and captcha code, then click on the search
Enter the mobile number linked with the Aadhaar card
Click on 'Get OTP' and enter the OTP in the specified field
The process aims to streamline the verification of farmers' identities, enabling a more efficient and secure disbursement of funds.
