Poco has officially confirmed that its upcoming Poco X8 Pro series will launch in India on March 17, 2026, at 20:00 GMT+8 (5:30 pm IST). The new lineup is aimed at the mid-range and performance-focused smartphone segment and is expected to include two models - the standard Poco X8 Pro and the higher-end Poco X8 Pro Max.

While the company has not yet revealed the full specifications, it has hinted that the upcoming smartphones will emphasize stronger performance. Over the past few weeks, several leaks and reports have already provided a glimpse of the expected specifications and pricing.
Reports indicate that the Poco X8 Pro may run on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset, while the more advanced Poco X8 Pro Max could feature the more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9500s processor. In terms of design, both smartphones are expected to feature a flat-frame body, a vertically aligned dual-camera setup, and an OLED display with a high refresh rate. Teaser images hint at a back panel with two separate circular camera cutouts. The phones are also expected to be available in three colour options - black, white and green.
The Poco X8 Pro is likely to come with a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display and a dual rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor. Meanwhile, the Poco X8 Pro Max may feature a larger 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display. One of the standout features of the Pro Max model is expected to be its massive battery capacity. The device could reportedly house a 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery designed to deliver up to two to three days of moderate usage. It is also tipped to support fast charging that can fully charge the device in about 40 minutes, along with 27W reverse charging for accessories. The phone may also carry IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for protection against dust, water immersion and high-pressure water jets.
On the camera front, the Poco X8 Pro Max is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup headlined by a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilisation for improved low-light and stable photography. The setup may also include an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 20-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.
Powered by a flagship-grade MediaTek processor, the Pro Max model could target gamers and heavy smartphone users. The device is also expected to offer stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and advanced haptic feedback. On the software side, the smartphone will likely run HyperOS based on Android 16, featuring improved AI tools, customization options and enhanced security features.
Although official pricing has not yet been announced, a CNBC report suggests that the Poco X8 Pro Max could start at around 529 euros (approximately Rs 57,000) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The 12GB + 512GB version may cost about 579 euros (roughly Rs 62,000). Meanwhile, the Poco X8 Pro is expected to start at around 399 euros (approximately Rs 43,000) for the 8GB + 256GB variant, while the 12GB + 512GB model may be priced at about 479 euros (around Rs 51,000).
Industry reports also suggest that the Poco X8 Pro could launch globally as a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 5, a device that was earlier introduced in China with similar hardware. Overall, the upcoming Poco X8 Pro series is expected to succeed the previous Poco X7 series and focus heavily on performance-driven features, particularly targeting gamers and users who require strong multitasking capabilities.
