Telugu superstar Allu Arjun has cemented his position as the highest-paid actor of 2024, commanding a fee of Rs 300 crore for his blockbuster film Pushpa 2: The Rule. The highly anticipated sequel, which has already shattered several box office records within a week of its release, has entered the elite Rs 1,000 crore club in just 7 days.
According to The Hollywood Reporter India, Allu Arjun's fee for Pushpa 2: The Rule has surpassed the earnings of several leading actors across Indian cinema. The star has outpaced his fellow Telugu actor Prabhas, as well as top Bollywood icons like Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.

Prabhas, known for his roles in mega-productions such as Baahubali and this year's Kalki 2898 AD, reportedly charges between Rs 150 to Rs 200 crore per film. Despite his high fees, Prabhas has been outshone by Allu Arjun's remuneration.
Profit-Sharing Model Among Bollywood A-Listers
Bollywood stars Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan operate differently, favouring profit-sharing arrangements over upfront payments. For instance, Shah Rukh Khan reportedly earned 55% of the box office profits from his blockbuster Pathaan, translating to Rs 350 crore. Similarly, Aamir Khan is known to take an estimated 60% of the profits from his films.
Hrithik Roshan also employs a mixed strategy. While he charged Rs 100 crore upfront for Fighter, released earlier this year, he opts for profit-sharing on select projects, especially those produced by Yash Raj Films (YRF). Hrithik has also been known to lower his fees for certain ventures, such as Vikram Vedha (Rs 60-70 crore) and Super 30, for which he charged even less.
Mid-Range Stars
Other top Bollywood actors like Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and Ranbir Kapoor demand fees ranging between Rs 70 to Rs 80 crore per project. Ranveer Singh, known for his high-energy performances, reportedly charges Rs 50 to Rs 60 crore, while rising star Kartik Aaryan commands Rs 40 crore per film.
Varun Dhawan and Shahid Kapoor fall into the lower bracket, charging approximately Rs 30 crore per project. Meanwhile, actors like Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Rajkummar Rao charge between Rs 15 to Rs 30 crore, with Khurrana and Rao typically earning Rs 15 to Rs 18 crore per film.
Allu Arjun
Allu Arjun's rise as India's highest-paid actor is a testament to his mass appeal and the cultural impact of the Pushpa franchise. His portrayal of Pushpa Raj in the films has garnered immense acclaim, making him a household name across the nation. With Pushpa 2: The Rule breaking records, his Rs 300 crore fee reflects not only his star power but also the film's success.
Allu Arjun's record remuneration signifies a broader shift in the Indian film industry, where regional cinema is increasingly challenging Bollywood's dominance. Films like Pushpa 2 and RRR have captured audiences nationwide, pushing stars like Allu Arjun and Prabhas into the national spotlight.
