Electronics manufacturing investment: Rajasthan and Centre pitch incentives and semiconductor plans
The Centre and the Rajasthan government promoted the state as a destination for electronics manufacturing and semiconductor projects, highlighting incentives, policy support, and infrastructure. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw cited groundwork for about 450 factories and 75 approvals under the Electronic Components Manufacturing Scheme. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma pointed to progress under the India Semiconductor Mission.
The Centre and the Rajasthan government on Saturday presented Rajasthan as a major option for electronics and semiconductor manufacturing. Officials asked investors to set up units in the state. They also promised policy support, incentives, and faster infrastructure work for the sector.

Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said Rajasthan could grow into a leading electronics manufacturing hub. Vaishnaw linked the sector’s growth to the leadership of Narendra Modi. Vaishnaw said planning work for about 450 factories was completed in two years.

Vaishnaw also said 75 factories were approved under the Electronic Components Manufacturing Scheme ECMS in the last year. Vaishnaw spoke at an interactive session on electronics and semiconductors. The meeting was held at the Chief Ministers Office with Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.
During the session, Vaishnaw asked investors to set clear timelines for new manufacturing units. Vaishnaw assured support from the double-engine government. Vaishnaw also said more projects in the sector would create large-scale employment.
Electronics and semiconductor manufacturing incentives and policies
Sharma said India has entered a small group of countries that produce semiconductors. Sharma said the India Semiconductor Mission is moving ahead quickly. Sharma said the mission has an incentive package of over Rs 76,000 crore.
Sharma said Rajasthan has started its first semiconductor cluster in Bhiwadi. The cluster covers 50 acres and is already operational. Sharma said it can produce around six crore chips each year. Sharma added that about 20 companies have submitted proposals worth over Rs 1,200 crore.
Sharma highlighted Rajasthan’s triple-S advantage of "silica, skill and solar\". Sharma said the state has brought in a dedicated semiconductor policy. Sharma also referred to other industrial policies aimed at building a strong base. Sharma said the state is offering capital subsidies and interest subventions.
Electronics and semiconductor manufacturing zones and state role
Sharma said areas like the Jodhpur-Pali-Marwar industrial belt and Kankani are being developed. Sharma described these areas as the Silicon Valley of Rajasthan. Sharma said the plan includes facilities for chip design and electronics manufacturing. Sharma also mentioned system development support.
Industry and Commerce Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore said semiconductors now support economic self-reliance in the digital age. Rathore also said they influence the global power balance. Rathore said Rajasthan is in a strong position to contribute to the mission.
Senior officials and industry stakeholders attended the event with state leaders. The session presented Rajasthan’s industrial policies and investment options. Officials used the meeting to explain support measures for electronics and semiconductor manufacturing. The Centre and the state said they would continue helping investors as projects move forward.
