India's most prominent industrialist and former chairman of Tata Sons, Ratan Naval Tata passed away on October 9 at the age of 86. The visionary industrialist left a massive void in the Indian industry. Ratan Tata left an ineffaceable mark in the world of business all across the globe. His several achievements not only inspired several business tycoons globally but the youth also got inspiration from him. Below are some interesting facts about late Ratan Tata:
1. Ratan Tata hailed from the renowned Tata family. His grandmother, Navajbai Tata adopted him when he was just 10-years old due separation of his parents.

2. Ratan Tata completed his early education in India and graduated from Riverdale Country School in New York City in 1955. The prominent industrialist later went to Cornell University and studied as Harvard Business School as well.
3. Despite being hugely successful in the business world and leaving ineffaceable mark on Indian industry, Ratan Tata reportedly remained unlucky when it came to his love life as he fell in love 4 times but could not get married.
4. Ratan Tata refused job offer from IBM as he was keen to build the Tata Group. He started his career with the blast furnace and limestone dump industry and led many crucial project. In 1991, he became the CEO of Tata Group. Despite getting retired he never felt tired as he continued to remained connected in the ventures of Tata Group indicating how deeply he was associated with the group.
5. Apart from leading the Tata Group and leaving a strong mark, Ratan Tata was also a trained pilot too. He also became the first India to fly the F-16 Falcon fighter jet way back in 2007. He also saved his classmates lives when an aircraft's engine failed mid-air after he landed the aircraft safely.
6. Ratan Tata was very fond of pets especially pets. He ensured that stray dogs entering the Mumbai's Taj Mahal Hotel were not ill-treated and used his Instagram platform to find shelter homes for stray dogs.
7. Ratan Tata was fond of art work and admired the works of several popular artists such as MF Husain, Jehangir Sabaval, and SH Raza, among others. He possessed several paintings, sculptures, and photographs in his collection of art work. He was also a car and motorcycles enthusiast. His possession of cars included vintage as well as modern cars.
