Bengaluru News: IPL 2025 is set to resume on May 17 after a week-long suspension by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The revised IPL 2025 schedule will begin with a clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
"BCCI is pleased to announce the resumption of the TATA IPL 2025. After extensive consultations with government and security agencies and all key stakeholders, the Board has decided to proceed with the remainder of the season," the board said in an official statement.
After IPL 2025 was temporarily suspended, many fans were left wondering what would happen to the tickets they had already bought for the upcoming matches. Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had announced that they would refund the ticket cost for two of their home matches that were affected by the suspension, which were RCB vs SRH, scheduled on May 13, and RCB vs KKR, originally scheduled on May 17.
RCB had posted on X previously, "Original ticket holders of #RCBvSRH and #RCBvKKR at the Chinnaswamy stadium are eligible for a full refund, subject to terms and conditions."
However, things have changed now that the IPL 2025 will resume on May 17, and the match between RCB and KKR will go ahead as originally planned. Since the venue, date, and match timing remain unchanged, RCB vs KKR tickets will no longer be refunded.
"Since there has been no shift in venue, date, or match timing, all previously purchased tickets will still grant entry to the game," clarified RCB.
Fans who already bought tickets for this match can simply use the same tickets to attend the game at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, without needing any reissuance or changes. Only ticket holders for the cancelled RCB vs SRH match will get a full refund.
IPL 2025 Resumes: RCB vs KKR Match to Restart Tournament
According to the updated IPL schedule, the tournament will now run from May 17 to June 3, with all 10 teams returning to action after a temporary suspension which was brought about due to geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan. The BCCI confirmed the resumption of the IPL after a ceasefire was declared by both nations, clearing the path for the tournament to continue.
