Reliance Jio has emerged as the world's leading Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) service provider, surpassing United States-based T-Mobile, according to the latest quarterly results announced by Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). With over 7.4 million subscribers on its Jio AirFiber platform, the company has claimed the top spot globally in the FWA space.
Reliance Jio Becomes World's Best FWA Service Provider, Beats US' T-Mobile
Under its FWA offering, Jio operates Jio AirFiber, which delivers high-speed wireless broadband services. RIL Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani revealed the milestone while announcing the company's quarterly earnings, noting that JioFiber-its wired broadband counterpart-continues to perform exceptionally well. Together, Jio's broadband services have now connected more than 20 million premises across India.

Reliance Jio's Strong Momentum in 5G Adoption
Jio is also showing significant progress in the 5G segment. As of June 30, 2025, over 213 million users are connected to the Jio True 5G network. The aggressive expansion and customer acquisition strategy have helped the company maintain its leadership in India's digital connectivity space.
Reliance Q1 Financial Performance 2026
Reliance Jio's financial performance was equally robust. The company reported an average revenue per user (ARPU) of Rs 208.8 per month, reflecting strong user engagement and monetization. Net profit for the quarter surged 24.8% year-on-year to reach Rs 7,110 crore.
Expressing satisfaction with the results, Mukesh Ambani said, "Our digital services business has consistently strengthened its market position with robust financial and operational performance. Jio's broad range of offerings across mobility, broadband, enterprise connectivity, cloud, and smart homes has positioned it as a trusted Indian technology partner for consumers."
Jio Subscriber Growth & Data Usage
As of June 30, 2025, Jio's total customer base stood at over 498 million. The company added 9.9 million new subscribers on a net basis during the quarter. Data consumption remains exceptionally high, with average monthly data usage per user reaching 37 GB, the highest in the industry. Overall, Jio's total data traffic rose by 24% year-on-year, reaching 54.7 billion GB.
