India will celebrate its 77th Republic Day on January 26, 2026, with grandeur and patriotic fervor. As every year, a spectacular parade will take place on Kartavya Path, attracting thousands of spectators. For the first time, the Delhi Metro is offering special facilities to attendees by providing free metro tickets along with the parade invitation letters.
Republic Day 2026: Delhi Metro Revised Timings For 26 January 2026
Delhi Metro services on Republic Day will start early, from 3:00 AM, to accommodate the influx of visitors.

Delhi Metro Entry and Exit Gates Restriction For Republic Day 2026
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced restrictions on entry and exit at certain stations to ensure smooth operations of the parade and its rehearsals. On January 26, the following stations will have restricted access:
Central Secretariat Metro Station (Gates 3 and 4)
Udyog Bhawan Metro Station (Gate 1)
Red Fort Metro Station (Gates 3 and 4)
Jama Masjid Metro Station (Gates 3 and 4).
Delhi Gate Metro Station (Gates 1, 4, and 5)
ITO Metro Station (Gates 3, 4, and 6)
DMRC has advised commuters to plan their journeys accordingly and follow announcements and official information at stations. While security measures will be heightened near the parade route, metro services on other lines will operate as per the regular schedule.
Normally, Delhi Metro runs from 5:00 AM to 11:30 PM, though timings vary by line and station. The Airport Express Line starts at 4:45 AM, and some lines begin later on Sundays, around 6:00 AM.
Namo Bharat Stations' Parking Timings on 26 January 2026
The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has also announced heightened security at all Namo Bharat stations along the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor. Parking at New Ashok Nagar and Anand Vihar Namo Bharat stations will remain closed from 2:00 PM on January 25 to 2:00 PM on January 26. Commuters are advised to factor in additional time due to security checks and temporary parking restrictions.
77th Republic Day Parade 2026 At Kartavya Path, New Delhi
The Republic Day ceremony will begin at 9:30 AM with Prime Minister Narendra Modi laying a wreath at the National War Memorial, followed by the main parade on Kartavya Path at 10:30 AM.
Republic Day 2026 Theme
The central theme for Republic Day 2026 is "150 Years of Vande Mataram", celebrating the legacy of the song composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay. The 30 tableaux in the parade will focus on two sub-themes: "Mantra of Freedom - Vande Mataram" and "Mantra of Prosperity - Atmanirbhar Bharat".
