Leading aerospace and defence technology firm Apollo Micro Systems Limited (AMS) is pleased to announce a significant greenfield expansion in the state of Telangana that will propel the company into the next phase of India's leadership in defence manufacturing. Along with its subsidiaries, this endeavour represents a major step in strengthening the company's standing as a leader in India's defence manufacturing sector.

In addition to developing comprehensive ammunition systems for artillery, rockets, and other armaments, the project will establish state-of-the-art facilities for the manufacturing and filling of warheads for missiles, rocket motors, small, medium, and large calibre artillery systems, and ammunition.
"This strategic move marks one of the most significant expansions in AMS history and positions the company at the forefront of India's rapidly accelerating defence manufacturing ecosystem enabling it to meet the growing demand both domestically and internationally," said the company in a stock exchange filing.
AMS is well-positioned to substantially boost its manufacturing capacity, strengthen the robustness of its supply chain, and broaden its portfolio of cutting-edge domestic defence technologies with this new greenfield project.
"The project creates strong strategic synergies, strengthening AMS competitive advantage and accelerating its trajectory toward a leading position in India's defence manufacturing landscape," the company confirmed in a statement.
With entirely in-house, high-precision, high-reliability defence systems, AMS is well-positioned to play an even more crucial role in boosting National Security capabilities. This growth is in complete accordance with the Government of India's Aatmanirbhar Bharat goal. Apollo Micro Systems Limited (AMS) and its group firms would invest over Rs 1500 crores in the project. This investment demonstrates the company's long-term dedication to advancing vital national security goals and expanding India's domestic defence manufacturing capabilities.
Mr. Karunakar Reddy, Managing Director of Apollo Micro Systems Limited, stated: "Our greenfield defence manufacturing project represents a powerful and transformational step forward significantly elevating our scale, technological capability, and strategic relevance to the nation. The new facility will unlock strong synergies with IDL Explosives Ltd. Moreover, enabling us to seamlessly fulfil captive requirements of explosives for Artillery Shells, Moored Mines, MIGM, and Grad Rockets to name few. This unified capability positions the Group as a formidable force in delivering mission-critical defence solutions at scale at one roof.
