The joint venture between Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) and Salasar Techno Engineering Limited (STEL) has emerged as the lowest bidder for a transmission project valued at nearly Rs 174 crore in Madhya Pradesh. The project, awarded by Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd, involves the construction of 132 KV and 220 KV transmission lines along with associated feeder bays on a total turnkey basis in eastern Madhya Pradesh.
RVNL, holding a majority stake of 51%, and STEL with the remaining 49%, jointly expressed their success in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). According to RVNL, the project is slated for completion within 18 months, and the order size is estimated at Rs 174 crore.

Shashank Agarwal, Managing Director of Salasar Techno Engineering, expressed confidence in the joint venture's capability to secure more lucrative projects in the future. He highlighted the board's confidence in securing the current project, emphasizing the Rs 173.99 crore bid secured as the lowest bidder. The partnership with RVNL positions Salasar Techno Engineering Ltd strategically, with a 49% stake in the joint venture.
Salasar Techno Engineering Ltd (STEL), a prominent steel structural manufacturer and EPC infrastructure company operates across multiple sectors, including telecom, energy, and railways. The successful bid for the transmission project further strengthens STEL's presence in the infrastructure development sector.
RVNL, operating under the Ministry of Railways, is renowned for its involvement in project development, financing, and implementation of projects related to rail infrastructure. The joint venture's success in the transmission project underscores RVNL's diversified capabilities and strategic partnerships.
The shares of RVNL were observed trading near the flatline at Rs 260.25 per share on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) as of 2:30 pm. Despite the subdued market performance on the day of the announcement, RVNL's stock has demonstrated robust growth over the past year, registering a remarkable gain of over 300%.
The successful bid for the transmission project in Madhya Pradesh not only signifies the technical prowess and collaborative strength of the RVNL-Salasar joint venture but also augurs well for the future prospects of both companies. The infrastructure development landscape in Madhya Pradesh stands to benefit significantly from the timely execution of this project, enhancing the region's power transmission capabilities.
