SAIL Q4 Result: Maharatna PSU In Green After PAT Rises 11% in Q4; Dividend Announced; Should You Buy?

SAIL Q4 Result: Shares of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) were trading in green on Thursday after the Maharatna PSU announced an 11% profit after tax (PAT) for the March quarter of the financial year 2024-25. The steelmaker had also announced a final dividend for the shareholders.

SAIL's shares opened nearly 1% higher on Thursday. The company scrip was trading 0.39% higher at Rs 129.3 per share on BSE on Thursday at 10:40 am. SAIL's share price ended marginally higher at Rs 128.8 per share on BSE on Wednesday. The company's scrips' market capitalisation stood at Rs 53,195.59 crore. The company stock touched tis 52-week high mark of Rs 169.30 apiece 28 May. The stock touched its 52-week low mark of Rs 99.20 per share on BSE on 12 February, 2025.

SAIL Q4 Result

The Indian steelmaker's net consolidated profit (attributable to the owners of the company) stood at Rs 1251 crore. Company's net revenue from operations stood at Rs 29316.14 crore during the March quarter against Rs 27958,5 crore reported in the same period a year ago.

SAIL's net consolidated revenue stood at Rs 24489.91 in the December quarter. The company's earnings per share stood at Rs 3.03. Revenue from SAIL's Bhilai Steel Plant declined to Rs 9095.36 crore in the March quarter against Rs 9699.55 crore reported during the year-ago period.

SAIL's total segment revenue increased marginally to Rs 31300.84 crore during the quarter from Rs 31213.52 crore reported during the year-ago period.

"Amidst challenges posed by international tariffs and import pressures, which was present in the last quarter of FY25, our robust performance reflects our ability to navigate complexities while strengthening our position. The supporting government policies augur well for domestic steel demand and as we move forward, SAIL remains focused on innovation, cost optimization and planned future expansion in line with National Steel Policy," Sial chairman and MD, Amarendu Prakash, said.

SAIL Dividend

The Indian steel maker had announced a final dividend of Rs 1.6 per share, with a face value of Rs 10 per share.

"The Board of Directors have recommended the Final Dividend @ Rs.1.60 /- per equity share of Rs.lO/- each for the Financial Year 2024-25 (16% of the paid up equity share capital of the Company). The said Final dividend for FY 2024-25 will be paid within 30 days from the date of approval by the Shareholders in the ensuing Annual General Meeting, the date of which will be intimated in due course," read a BSE filing by the company.

SAIL Share Price Recommendation

Kotak Institutional Securities in its latest report has issued a 'Sell' rating for SAIL, indicating a downside of 53%. Underlining SAIL's in-line growth and revenue target, brokerage Motilal Oswal, maintained a 'neutral' stance on the company scrip. The brokerage is likely to revisit its target price after SAIL's conference call.
