In the financial world, everyone has gone gaga about about Sam Altman leaving OpenAI. Last week, ChatGPT developer OpenAI ousted Sam Altman, the company's co-founder and CEO from his post after the company's board of directors maintained that they had lost confidence in Sam's leadership role.
Sam Altman's dismissal news sent shockwaves in the tech world leaving bigwigs like Microsoft CEO and others to take note of the matter. Now, just as everyone was digesting Sam's removal from the top post in OpenAI, it has come to the limelight that Sam Altman and President Greg Brockman will be joining Microsoft. The news is officially confirmed by Satya Nadella as he mentioned the update of the duo joining tech giant Microsoft in one of his posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On Monday, Nadella wrote on X, "We remain committed to our partnership with OpenAI and have confidence in our product roadmap, our ability to continue to innovate with everything we announced at Microsoft Ignite, and in continuing to support our customers and partners.
We look forward to getting to know Emmett Shear and OAI's new leadership team and working with them. And we're extremely excited to share the news that Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, together with colleagues, will be joining Microsoft to lead a new advanced AI research team. We look forward to moving quickly to provide them with the resources needed for their success."
As per the post, Altman will be the CEO of the new advanced AI research team.
Altman co-founded OpenAI in 2015. Sam Altman's sudden departure from the company has even left OpenAI investor Microsoft off guard.
One should note that former co-founder and CEO of Twitch Emmett Shear has been appointed as the new OpenAI CEO. Today, in a post on X Shear said he got a call from the company asking him to become interim CEO of the company and that he had accepted, "after consulting with my family and reflecting on it for just a few hours."
Meanwhile, just after Nadella announced the formation of a new advanced AI research team to be led by Sam Altman, Tesla CEO Elon Musk quipped in with an amusing comment saying, "Now they will have to use Teams!"
Musk's reaction was in reference to a report that stated Altman and Brockman were sacked from OpenAi during a Google Meet - which is seen as a rival of Microsoft's Teams.
Following this, a meme fest started on X with users joining Elon Musk in the laughs and giggles.
One person wrote, "Fired on meet, hired on teams."
