Samsung Electronics president TM Roh emphasised the need for responsible AI during the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event. He highlighted the importance of balancing AI's potential benefits with preventing its misuse. "As we advance in innovation, the most important part of AI is maximising the life-enhancing precipice while minimising misuse. We are proactively collaborating with industry leaders to develop and grow safe and inclusive AI technology so that no one is left out," Roh said.

Galaxy Ring and New Wearables
The Korean tech giant introduced the Galaxy Ring, a health and wellness wearable device powered by Galaxy AI. Initially launched in San Jose earlier this year, the Galaxy Ring offers features such as energy score, wellness tips, sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, menstrual cycle tracking, inactive alert, and workout tracking. The device aims to provide comprehensive insights and personalised guidance for users.
Samsung also unveiled its sixth generation foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6. These new models are designed to offer unique mobile experiences in communication, productivity, and creativity. "Together with Al-infused connected Galaxy ecosystem, our new products will empower you and enhance your lives," Roh stated.
New Foldable Smartphones
JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, announced that both Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 are manufactured at their Noida factory. In addition to these smartphones, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Buds3 and Galaxy Buds3 Pro. These new earbuds aim to enhance user experience with improved sound quality and connectivity.
The consumer electronics giant also launched the new Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra. These devices will be available for pre-order in select markets starting July 10, with general availability beginning on July 24. The wearables are designed to integrate seamlessly into Samsung's expanding ecosystem of connected devices.
Expanding AI Ecosystem
Roh expressed excitement about building a Galaxy AI ecosystem unique to Samsung. He revealed that Galaxy AI would be available on 200 million devices by the end of this year across select Galaxy devices. "The impact will be profound," he said. This expansion aims to enhance user experience through advanced AI capabilities integrated into various Samsung products.
At the event, Roh reiterated Samsung's commitment to leveraging technology for societal benefits. "Today, we renew confidence in our relationship with technology and its potential to help society in once unimaginable ways," he said. This statement underscores Samsung's vision of using innovation to improve lives while ensuring safety and inclusivity.
Barring the Galaxy Ring, all newly launched products are available for pre-booking from July 10, with general availability from July 24. This launch marks another step in Samsung's ongoing efforts to push technological boundaries while prioritising user safety and inclusivity in its AI advancements.
Samsung continues to collaborate with industry leaders to ensure that their AI technology is safe and inclusive. This proactive approach aims to prevent anyone from being left out as technology advances. The company's focus on responsible AI development reflects its commitment to balancing innovation with ethical considerations.
The introduction of these new products highlights Samsung's dedication to enhancing user experiences through cutting-edge technology. By integrating advanced AI features into their devices, Samsung aims to provide users with tools that improve their daily lives in meaningful ways.
