Sanam Teri Kasam: Could These Re-Releases In April 2025 Beat Harshvardhan Rane Starter's Rs 50 Crore Mark?

Sanam Teri Kasam Box Office Collection: The 2016 romantic cult movie, starring Harshvardhan Rane, has become the highest-grossing re-release movie in Indian history with a Rs 50 crore collection worldwide. However, the success of Sanam Teri Kasam has also led to long queues for the re-release of nostalgic and much-loved Bollywood movies.

The re-release date of Andaz Apna Apna is scheduled for April 25. Andaz Apna Apna was released first in November 1994 and was a super hit due to its comedy, Aamir-Salman's pair, wholesome drama, and humorous action. Andaz Apna Apna was a powerhouse of classic comedy, which Indians love up to this date.

The film focuses on two gold diggers, played by Aamir and Salman, who attempt to woo a heiress so that they can access her father's wealth. The duo wants to be rich using shortcuts. They soon realize that the heiress has exchanged her identity with that of her secretary. 2. Darr Re-Release:

Bollywood king, Shah Rukh Khan's Darr is also expected to re-release in April, as per reports. Yash Chopra's classic psychological thriller film was released in 1993, with casts Sunny Deol and Juhi Chawla in lead roles with Shah Rukh Khan as the antagonist.

The movie had a Budget of Rs 3.25 crore and was yet another blockbuster with collection of Rs 21.3 crore in 1993.

The storyline is about violent, psychopathic and obsessive love. Kiran Awasthi (Chawla) is stalked by her obsessive lover Rahul Mehra (Khan), who goes berserk when she gets engaged to Sunil Malhotra (Deol), a navy officer. Sunil and Rahul go into an action-packed chase and rivalry against each other to claim Kiran. All three actors were widely appreciated by the critics.

3. Hunter Re-Release:

The 2015 adult comedy is set to re-release on April 4. Written and directed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni, Hunterr stars Gulshan Devaiah, Sai Tamhankar, Radhika Apte.

Although, Rane's Sanam Teri Kasam was a flop in 2016. The movie's re-release on February 7, 2025, emerged to be a superhit. He is paired with Mawra Hocane.

Since its re-release on February 7th, Sanam Teri Kasam has touched some notable milestones. With worldwide gross collection of Rs 50 crore, the 2016 tragic love movie is the highest re-release grosser.

The movie has outrun Tumbbad's box office collection of Rs 38 crore, pushing the folk-horror movie at the second rank. Ghilli is at third, Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani is at fourth rank and Sholay is the fifth highest-grosser.

Apart from this, Sanam Teri Kasam is the seventh highest grossing re-release film by opening day. On its opening day which was February 7, Sanam Teri Kasam earned Rs 4-5.14 crore crore. The highest re-release grosser by opening day was of Ghilli with Rs 7.50 crore to Rs 10 crore collection, followed by Gabbar Singh with between Rs 6.50 crore to Rs 8.02 crore collection, and Murari with up to Rs 5.45 crore collection on the opening day.

However, Sanam Teri Kasam is the highest grossing milestone film. Its milestone is of Rs 50 crore, beating Tumbbad who touched Rs 35 crore mark during its re-release period. Notably, Sholay movie had touched the milestone of R 10 crore. But Sanam Teri Kasam has set new benchmark of Rs 50 crore for the upcoming re-releases.

Sanam Teri Kasam tells the story of a tough ex-convict Inder and a traditional librarian Saru. Inder and Saru fall in love and get married but a tragedy changes their lives forever. The cinematography was done by Chirantan Das, the music was given by Himesh Reshammiya, and the lyrics were written by Reshammiya, Sameer Anjaan, Shabbir Ahmed and Subrat Sinha. Sanam Teri Kasam was released worldwide on 5 February 2016 under Eros International. It received mixed reviews from critics and was a commercial failure in its first release.
