Starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, the film earned over 32 crore net in just 16 days in India. With its emotional story and soulful music, it connected with audiences after 9 years of its original release, bringing its total global earnings to 53 crore gross. This re-release success confirms Sanam Teri Kasam as a fan favourite that shines at the box office after a long time, as per Sacnilk data.

While Sanam Teri Kasam's re-release was a superhit, the top highest-grossing re-release movies are majorly dominated by romantic movies. For instance, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani's re-release also bagged impressive love with a box office collection of nearly Rs 27 crore, while movies like Rockstar, and Laila Majnu also did well during their re-release with up to Rs 12 crore collection.

Sanam Teri Kasam's re-release was more loved than new movies that had fresh faces. For instance, as per Sacnilk data, the movie Mere Husband Ki Biwi, a romantic comedy, has a worldwide gross collection of Rs 12.55 crore. While movies like Bromance earned about Rs 14.74 crore worldwide, Laila minted nearly Rs 5 crore, and Loveyapa earned nearly Rs 10 crore worldwide.

Harshvardhan Rane Update:

As per the latest update, fans have been concerned about the lead actor of Sanam Teri Kasam, Harshvardhan Rane who recently shared a series of images on his social media account. Among many images were related to his physique, him playing with a toy giraffe and a snap of his injured toe.

Rane revealed that his toe got hurt while trying a strong kick. He said, "Harshvardhan Rane wrote, "I love giraffes. Stands tall, Moves with elegance, Kicks hard ! PS: hurt my lil toe while kicking hard." This quickly escalated with fans sharing worry over his injury.

Much Awaited Sequels in 2025:

At the top of the list is Sanam Teri Kasam 2 after the success of the original's re-release. The directors of the movie have confirmed their plan for Sanam Teri Kasam 2, where Harshvardhan Rane is expected to play the lead actor again. However, instead of Mawra, reports have stated that Shraddha Kapoor could potentially be the leading actress in the movie.

Other movies sequel that are expected would be Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Veer Zaara, Aashiqui 2, Barfi, and Ek Villian.

Sanam Teri Kasam tells the story of a tough ex-convict Inder and a traditional librarian Saru. Inder and Saru fall in love and get married but a tragedy changes their lives forever. The cinematography was done by Chirantan Das, the music was given by Himesh Reshammiya, and the lyrics were written by Reshammiya, Sameer Anjaan, Shabbir Ahmed and Subrat Sinha. Sanam Teri Kasam was released worldwide on 5 February 2016 under Eros International. It received mixed reviews from critics and was a commercial failure in its first release.
