The Punjab government in a notification declared Parshuram Jayanti a public holiday, hence all schools, colleges and even government offices are likely to remain closed today, Tuesday.
Rajasthan
The festival is celebrated with huge joy and fervour in Rajasthan. As per the state government's official calendar, there will be a public holiday in Rajasthan on Tuesday, consequentially, all schools, colleges in the state will be closed.

According to reports, educational institutions are likely to remain closed on Tuesday in other Indian states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, and Maharashtra. Parshuram Jayanti Today
Parshuram Jayanti is celebrated across India to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Parshuram. The occasion coincides with Akshay Tritiya, on the third waxing moon in the month of Vaishakha according to Hindu calendar. The occasion generally falls between April-May period.
Lord Parshuram is said to be the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This year, Parshuram Jayanti is celebrated on April 29. According to religious belief, Lord Parshuram got his name due to the usage of Parshu (an axe) to kill all Kshatriyas on earth. He is said to have killed all Kshatriyas during his time to avenge the murder of his father by them, and perceived abuse of power. Apart from schools, banks will also remain closed on the occasion in the Shimla region.
