Benchmark indices led by gains in select heavyweight stocks ended the session higher. Nifty settled at 12938.25 , up 0.5% or 64.05 points, while Sensex ended sharply higher at 44180.05, up 0.52% or 227.34 points.

On the Sensex top gainers in today's session include M&M, Larsen, IndusInd Bank, Bajaj Finserv and SBI, while laggards have been HUL, ITC, Titan Company, TCS and Tata Steel.
Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty Bank Index were up 3.6 per cent and 2 per cent, respectively, after the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing on interest on interest waiver case till Thursday.
M&M shares hit a new high in today's trade and made gains of over 11% on hopes of quick recovery in its core business as the company continues to divest its loss making business.
Wonderla Holidays also settled higher by over 8% the company's amusement park based at Bengaluru will open for rides from November 20.
Meanwhile, European indices are trading in a positive terrain with both German DAX and French CAC up, while FTSE was down by 0.27 percent. Meanwhile, US stock futures were trading with gains of up to 0.19 percent, pointing to higher opening for the US markets.
