The much-anticipated fourth season of Shark Tank India has begun filming, but not without some buzz surrounding the exit of Deepinder Goyal, the CEO of Zomato, who had been a part of the show in Season 3. His departure from the show this year has sparked various speculation, leaving fans and viewers wondering about the reason behind this exit. In response to this controversy, the Sharks now spoke up, offering insights into the shift.
The Exit of Deepinder Goyal
In Season 3, Deepinder Goyal made his debut as one of the Sharks, bringing his expertise and experience from Zomato to the table. However, as Shark Tank India announced its fourth season, viewers saw no sign of Deepinder, who will reportedly not return for the show this season. This is fueling a lot of online discussions and theories regarding his exit.

Shark Tank India Season 4 will have shadi.com's Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, CEO of boAt, Namita Thapar, leading Emcure Pharmaceuticals, Peyush Bansal, founder of Lenskart, and Ritesh Agarwal, CEO of OYO. A new shark is joining the panel this time, Viraj Bahl, the founder and managing director of Veeba, who is stepping into the role replacing Depinder Goyal.
Sharks Take on Deepinder's Exit
One of the rumors surrounding the new season is that sponsorship influenced the casting of the judges. On ET, a report quoted shark Aman Gupta, who denied these claims, saying that the show doesn't work like that and he is still the judge even though he is not sponsoring the show. He further told ET that the makers of the show chose the Sharks.
The newest entrant in the judges panel, Viraj Bahl, gave a lighthearted response that quickly gained attention. He was quoted by India Today saying that Deepinder's exit made a place for him in the new lineup, and he was really excited about his debut.
Deepinder Goyal's Response
Amid the ongoing controversy, Deepinder Goyal explained his decision to join Shark Tank India during the ET Startup Awards. He shared that his main goal in joining the show was to challenge the startup culture. He wanted to offer a different perspective and emphasize how startups should be built with a focus on sustainability and purpose. Goyal expressed that he felt it was a moral obligation to participate in the show once and then step away. When he was further asked whether he would be returning to the show or not, Deepinder responded humorously, noting that he had heard Swiggy sponsored Shark Tank this season, which he jokingly suggested led to his departure.
What to Expect from Shark Tank India Season 4
The new season of Shark Tank India has already garnered a lot of attention with ongoing controversy. People are looking forward to the show with new and exciting startups and inspiring entrepreneurs. This season will supposedly bring in new energy along with the mix of drama, business, and humor with the addition of Viraj Bahl, along with the return of the beloved Sharks like Aman Gupta and Peyush Bansal, and is expected to keep fans engaged.
