SIR Voters List in Tamil Nadu: Following the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik on Monday released the state's final voter list. Nearly 74 lakh names were deleted from the electoral rolls as part of the revision process in the poll-bound state.
After the SIR, Tamil Nadu now has 5.67 crore voters, which stood at 6.41 crore before the SIR. Addressing the press conference, Patnaik said that now 7.4 lakh people are registered voters in the 18-19 age bracket, and around 74 lakh voters were deleted under various categories, reported Deccan Herald.

The updated list highlights 12.51 lakh new electors in the 18-19 age group, reflecting fresh youth participation. It also records 4.63 lakh persons with disabilities and 3.99 lakh electors aged 85 years and above. During verification, authorities removed about 4.23 lakh ineligible entries to keep the electoral database accurate and clean.

-They can also search by entering the EPIC number for a direct match, or search using name, age and constituency details to confirm whether they remain listed as eligible electors.

SIR Voter List
The Special Intensive Revision reshaped the figures over several stages. In October 2025, the roll showed 6.41 crore electors. After enumeration, a draft roll of 5.43 crore was published in December 2025. Claims and objections were accepted until 30 January 2026, leading to the final adjusted figure of 5.67 crore electors.
SIR Voter List: What If You Do Not Find Your Name?
Tamil Nadu residents who do not find their names on the SIR voter list can apply for the correction or updation of their names through the official portal or offline at designated offices.
The second way to apply for correction in Tamil Nadu SIR voter list is to file a first appeal with the District Election Officer (DEO).
If the citizens are not satisfied with DEO's action, they can appeal directly to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) for a final review.
Where an Electoral Registration Officer rejects or modifies an application, the affected person can file a first appeal with the District Election Officer. If the District Election Officer's order is still not acceptable, the applicant may escalate the matter to the Chief Electoral Officer for a final review of the decision taken in that case.
