New Delhi, April 8 - In a significant move to bolster India's logistics and infrastructure sectors, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has underscored the importance of integrating logistics and infrastructure development courses into the educational programs of Central Training Institutes (CTIs) and State Administrative Training Institutes (ATIs). This initiative aims to equip officers with the necessary skills to navigate the complexities of infrastructure development, thereby enhancing logistical efficiencies and contributing to India's economic growth.

During a workshop held in Vadodara, Gujarat, Rajesh Kumar Singh, Secretary in the DPIIT, emphasized the critical role of capacity building and skill development in creating efficient and cost-effective logistics and infrastructure systems. The workshop, organized in collaboration with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV), sought to merge the principles of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (PMGS-NMP) and the National Logistics Policy (NLP) into the curriculum of CTIs and State ATIs.
The event provided a platform for discussing pedagogical strategies, curriculum development, and the integration of real-world challenges into the training of government officials. This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen India's logistics sector, identified as a key action item under the NLP.
Government officials play a pivotal role in the successful implementation of both the PMGS-NMP and NLP. To this end, various measures have been undertaken to institutionalize and regularize training on PMGS-NMP principles, including the onboarding of CTIs and ATIs. This approach aims to ensure that officials at all levels are well-prepared to contribute effectively to India's logistics and infrastructure development agenda.
The collaboration between DPIIT and GSV in organizing such workshops marks a significant step towards achieving these goals. By focusing on capacity building and skill development, India aims to establish more efficient and cost-effective logistics and infrastructure systems that will play a crucial role in driving economic growth and development.
