Sodexo and Adani have partnered to offer a comprehensive skill development program for youth in remote locations. The initiative aims to provide training, placement opportunities, and infrastructure support to over 500 individuals by 2024.
Sodexo, a leading provider of food and facility management services, has joined forces with Adani, a prominent Indian conglomerate, to launch a comprehensive skill development program for the youth residing in remote locations. This collaboration aims to provide skilling, training, and placement opportunities for young individuals in these areas, empowering them with the necessary skills to secure employment and contribute to the nation's growth.

Pilot Program in Mundra and Bhuj
The skill development program will commence as a pilot project in Mundra and Bhuj, Gujarat, with an initial batch of over 150 enthusiastic young participants. Sodexo and Adani are committed to witnessing the positive transformation of these individuals as they acquire valuable skills and knowledge through the program.
Scaling Up and Reaching More Youth
Based on the success of the pilot program in Mundra and Bhuj, Adani Skill Development Centre intends to replicate and expand similar initiatives in more tier-II and III cities, as well as remote locations across India. The goal is to upskill over 500 youth by 2024, thereby creating a larger pool of skilled individuals who can contribute to various sectors of the economy.
Sodexo's Role in Training and Development
Sodexo will spearhead the training component of the program, taking responsibility for developing course modules, providing coaches and guides, facilitating on-the-job training, and awarding certifications to participants. This comprehensive approach ensures that the youth receive high-quality training and are well-equipped to enter the job market.
Adani's Support and Infrastructure
Adani Skill Development Centre will play a crucial role in recruiting the youth for the program and providing the necessary infrastructure support. This includes identifying potential candidates, conducting assessments, and ensuring that the training facilities are conducive to effective learning and skill development.
Addressing Labor Shortages in Hospitality and Facility Management
The skill development program is designed to address the acute shortage of labor in the hospitality and facility management sectors. By providing targeted training and placement opportunities, Sodexo and Adani aim to enable first-time recruitment for 7,000 youth, with a specific focus on empowering women by ensuring that 25% of the recruited individuals are female.
The collaboration between Sodexo and Adani represents a significant step towards empowering the youth in remote areas of India. By providing skill development opportunities and facilitating their entry into the workforce, this initiative has the potential to transform lives, contribute to economic growth, and foster social progress in the country.
