SpiceJet has announced that its annual general meeting (AGM) for the fiscal year 2023-24 will be conducted by December 31. The airline has received an extension of up to three months to hold the meeting. This extension was granted under Section 96 of the Companies Act, 2013, allowing the crisis-hit carrier additional time to organise the AGM.

The company recently raised Rs 3,000 crore and has been in communication with the BSE regarding its annual report. SpiceJet received emails from the BSE about not submitting the annual report for the financial year ending March 31, 2024. The airline assured stakeholders that the annual report would be distributed in compliance with the Companies Act, 2013, and SEBI regulations.
New Flight Routes Announced
In a separate announcement, SpiceJet revealed plans to introduce eight new flights starting November 15. These flights will connect Jaipur with Varanasi, Amritsar, and Ahmedabad. Last month, SpiceJet launched 32 new flights, including two international routes linking Delhi with Phuket.
The upcoming flights will utilise Q400 aircraft, each with a seating capacity of 78 passengers. This expansion is part of SpiceJet's strategy to enhance its domestic and international network despite facing operational challenges.
SpiceJet's efforts to expand its flight network come amid ongoing financial difficulties. The airline is working to stabilise its operations while complying with regulatory requirements. By extending the AGM deadline and launching new routes, SpiceJet aims to reassure stakeholders and improve its market position.
The airline's commitment to addressing regulatory concerns and expanding its services highlights its resilience in a challenging environment. Stakeholders can expect timely updates on both the AGM proceedings and new flight operations as SpiceJet navigates through its current challenges.
