Stock Market Holiday in April 2025: The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will remain closed for three additional days in April. The stock market remains closed on Saturdays and Sundays every week.

NSE and BSE will remain shut for trading on Monday, March 31, for trading on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. Investors would be able to participate in trading on Tuesday for the first time in financial year 2025-26. Here are all the details about the stock market holidays in April 2025.
Stock Market Holidays in April 2025
10 April
There will be no trading in the equity, equity derivative and SLB segment on 10 April on BSE, according to its official website. As per NSE website, there will be clearing holiday for traders on 10 April on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.
14 April
On the occasion of DR BR Ambedkar Jayanti, trading will remain closed on BSE on Monday, April 14. There will be a clearing holiday on NSE on the occasion.
18 April
To mark the occasion of 'Good Friday', trading will remain shut on BSE in the equity, equity derivative and SLB segment, currency derivative segments, NDS-RST and Tri Party Repo, commodity derivatives segment and electronic gold receipts (EGR) segment. As per NSE website, there will be a clearing holiday for traders on 18 April.
Apart from stock market holidays in April, there will be ten bank holidays in different regions, apart from Saturdays and Sundays. Indian stock market traders can invest in the market during five days of the week. Whereas, stock market in India remains closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Additionally, trading remains closed on public holidays and festivals as announced in the official calendar at the start of the year.

April 10
Stock markets will remain closed on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.
April 14
Stock markets will remain shut on April 14 on the account of Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti.
April 18
Stock markets will remain shut on Good Friday.
Stock Market Holiday in May
Stock markets in India will remain closed on May 1 to celebrate the occasion of Maharashtra Day.
Stock Market Holiday in August
After May, the Indian stock market is unlikely to remain closed in any other day apart from Saturdays and Sundays till August. In this month, there will be a stock market holiday on 15 August to mark celebration of Independence Day, 27 August to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi.
October
In October, stock market will remain shut on october 2 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra, October 21 on Diwali Laxmi Pujan, Otctober 22 on Balipratipada.
November and December
To mark the celebration of Prakash Gurpurb Sri Guru Nanak Dev, the Indian stock market will remain shut on November 5. Whereas, there will be no trading on the Indian stock market on 25 December on Christmas celebration.
