Closing Bell: Sensex Ends 455 Pts Higher, Nifty At 25,001; Eternal, Power Grid, NTPC Top Losers

Stock Market Closing: Nifty and Sensex ended in green on Monday after a series of turbulent sessions last week. Earlier, Sensex opened at a higher note wittnessing a surge of 541.14 points (0.66%) to reach 82,262.22 at 9:17 AM, after opening at 81,928.95. Meanwhile, the Nifty 50 advanced 157.85 points (0.64%) to 25,011 post opening at 24,919.35 upper than the previous close.

Indian stock market benchmarks, the BSE Sensex and Nifty 50, are expected to open on a higher note. The Sensex surged 769.09 points, or 0.95%, to close at 81,721.08, while the Nifty 50 settled 243.45 points, or 0.99%, higher at 24,853.15.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a positive start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 24,930 level, a premium of nearly 50 points from the Nifty futures' previous close.

On Friday, the domestic equity market ended sharply higher, with the Nifty 50 closing above 24,800 level. And sensex closed over 81700.

US market on Friday closed in red with Dow Jones, S&P and Nasdaq slipping down. While Asian markets opened on a mixed note.
