On November 24, 2024, the Odisha state government initiated the third phase of the Subhadra Yojana, transferring the first installment of Rs 5,000 to nearly 20 lakh women. This event marked a significant milestone in the state's efforts to empower women through financial assistance. The distribution took place in Sundargarh, Odisha, where Chief Minister Mohan Majhi emphasized the impact of the scheme, stating it aims to benefit over 1 crore women. This initiative, according to Majhi, surpasses the previous government's Mission Shakti in terms of direct aid, highlighting that more than Rs 1,000 crore has been disbursed under the Subhadra Yojana.
What is Subhadra Yojna?
Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, the Subhadra Yojana is the Odisha state government's flagship program designed to empower women by providing them with financial support. Over a span of five years, each beneficiary is set to receive Rs 50,000, divided into yearly installments of Rs 10,000. To date, the scheme has already supported 80 lakh women across the state, with the government aiming to reach out to more than 1 crore women by December.

For those interested in benefiting from the Subhadra Yojana, the process to verify eligibility and apply is straightforward. Individuals can visit the scheme's official website, subhadra.odisha.gov.in, and navigate to the "Beneficiary List" section. By selecting their district, tehsil, gram panchayat, and ward, they can access a list of approved beneficiaries. If one's name appears on this list, they are eligible for the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) payment. Furthermore, the website also provides an option to check installment statuses, ensuring transparency and ease of access for potential beneficiaries.
How to Apply For Subhadra Yojna?
Additionally, the application process is made accessible online through the Subhadra portal. By entering the required details and uploading necessary documents, applicants can seamlessly apply for the scheme. This digital approach not only simplifies the application process but also ensures that the benefits of the scheme reach a wider audience without hassle.
The Subhadra Yojana stands as a landmark initiative by the Odisha state government, aiming to empower women through direct financial assistance. With the successful disbursement of funds across three phases and an inclusive approach to applicant eligibility and status checking, the scheme is on track to make a significant impact on the lives of over 1 crore women in Odisha.
