Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, announced that the Tata Group will play a significant role in the state's development. This includes establishing an IT Development Centre in Vizag and constructing up to 20 hotels. The announcement followed a meeting with Tata Group Executive Chairman N Chandrasekaran, where they discussed collaboration opportunities for Andhra Pradesh's growth.

The IT Development Centre in Vizag is expected to create around 10,000 jobs. Meanwhile, Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL), part of the Tata Group, plans to build 20 hotels under its brands: Taj, Vivanta, Gateway, SeleQtions, and Ginger Hotels. Additionally, a large convention centre is also being considered.
Focus on Renewable Energy and Technology
Tata Power is assessing solar and wind projects with a capacity of up to 5 GW. This initiative could see an investment of Rs 40,000 crore. Furthermore, discussions included potential collaborations to develop deep tech and AI solutions for primary healthcare, which are expected to significantly contribute to Andhra Pradesh's growth.
Naidu stated that these initiatives are crucial for driving development across the state. The focus on renewable energy and technology aligns with Andhra Pradesh's vision for sustainable growth and innovation.
Taskforce on Economic Development
The Chief Minister also chaired the inaugural meeting of the Taskforce on Economic Development for Swarna Golden Andhra Pradesh @2047. This task force aims to bring together industry leaders from various sectors to create a strategic plan for the state's future.
The task force's mandate includes spearheading consultations, identifying economic growth opportunities, assessing infrastructure needs, and recommending policy reforms. These efforts are aimed at transforming Andhra Pradesh into a leader in economic advancement by 2030 and 2047.
Key priorities identified by the task force include infrastructure development, entrepreneurship promotion, skill enhancement, support for MSMEs, and boosting manufacturing. The comprehensive roadmap aims to attract new investments and lay the foundation for long-term prosperity in the state.
Naidu emphasised that these initiatives will help position Andhra Pradesh as a frontrunner in economic progress while ensuring sustainable development for future generations.
